(HPSM) High Precision SPL Meter
Description
Reference-grade sound pressure level meter for car audio
The High Precision SPL Meter (HPSM) reads the real pressure your subwoofers move inside the cabin and converts it to dB SPL: the number that wins lanes and closes builds. It senses cabin pressure with the same class of automotive pressure sensor used by the reference meters at sanctioned SPL competition, so your reading lines up with the standard instead of guessing from a phone app.
Note: The SPL Meter is purpose-built for low-frequency (sub-bass) sound pressure, the band where car audio SPL is measured and won. It is a bass SPL instrument for subwoofer systems, not a broadband dBA sound meter.
Key Features
- Pressure-sensor measurement, not a microphone: an automotive-grade pressure sensor reads cabin pressure directly, the proven method at high SPL. Nothing to overload or distort at competition levels.
- Built for the bass band: tuned for the roughly 30 to 60 Hz tones where car audio SPL is won and lost.
- Enormous headroom: reads cleanly from around 130 dB daily-demo levels all the way through 180 dB and beyond, without clipping.
- Remote sensor pod on a cable: the pressure port rides on a small pod, so you sample cabin pressure exactly where you want it and keep the meter where you can read it.
- Calibrated to the standard: factory-calibrated against a reference meter, so your number is trustworthy and comparable, not an estimate.
- Peak and average readouts: capture your peak burp number and watch a live average as you tune.
- Bright 1.75-inch AMOLED touchscreen: live SPL, your peak, and the menus on a vivid round display you can read from across the vehicle.
- Part of your system: paired with a WVC base station, your live SPL streams to your bass knob, RTC, WDD-LITE, BassWatch, and phone, so the number shows up everywhere you already look.
Why You'll Love It
Whether you are chasing a new personal best on the meter lane, dialing in a daily demo in the driveway, or proving a build to a customer, the SPL Meter gives you a number you can stand behind.
Phone apps and cheap microphones fold at the pressure levels a real bass system makes; a pressure sensor does not. Mount the sensor pod where the pressure lives, put the meter where you can see it, and read your SPL the way the competition standard reads it. Hit record, take your shot, and know that the number on the screen is the number that counts.
Works with your whole system
Pair the SPL Meter with a WVC base station, the routing hub for your AuralSync™ system, and your live SPL goes everywhere your system already lives: your bass knob, RTC, WDD-LITE, BassWatch, and phone. It runs on the same network as the rest of your LF Audio gear, from your WVC to your WTH, so bass output, volume, voltage, power, and temperature all read from one connected system.
